Dennis Winkler Sr., whose spiritual name is Baba Ausar II, was born in Meherrin Virginia on May 2, 1956. Baba Ausar has always had a love for martial arts; as child Baba Ausar used to cut down corn with a machete imagining the corn as his opponents on the battlefield.

Baba Ausar has taught many the arts; he has taught at various senior centers, boys group homes, private sessions, The Afrikan Village and Cultural Center of Baltimore, Sojourner Douglass College, Brothers of Ma’at rites of passage in Baltimore MD, and is a dedicated teacher to his ongoing Tai chi class named “The Essence of Master Jabril.”

 

He furthered his martial arts career with Kyoshi Arnold Mitchell who was a world champion fighter in sho ren Ryu Okinawan karate; He furthered his career under the Instruction of Renshi Kasama where he earned a Black Belt. Baba Ausar began the art of tai chi chuan, chi q, Xing Yi, Bagua. And spirituality with master Jabril, He further developed his understanding of tai chi and meditation with Dr. Chen at Karan hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.
